I already have a Pioneer 7900BT head unit, 2 12"alpine type R's, and a HIFONICS amp. Now looking to upgrade the speakers.

So here's the question, could i have the amp just professionally installed then spend time to put on some fatmat and save $$$ doing the speaker install myself? I was wondering if the amp gets installed, then do i only have to swap the speakers out?

Yeah, the amp is completely different than the speakers, so you could..
I'd save the $90 and install the amp yourself, it's not that challenging to do, only 3 wires have to run through the car...
Just my opinion though, if you want me to explain a little on how to install an amp just let me know, message me or something, I can help you out
Otherwise google it, you can find something
