jcrick is right, you should try a hard reset. If you need assistance with resetting your device go to the Support Knowledge Library page regarding your device and the reset function:

Solution ID: 887

Resetting your device (Soft, System/Warm, Hard, In-Cradle, Power Down, Battery Disconnect, Zero Out)

Also, welcome to the board CH_ar_li_E. You can use the Palm, Inc. library tool for many issues that you may encounter with your new handheld.

I hope this helps.

A hard reset restores the device to factory fresh. A subsequent hot sync will most likely bring back the errant program that may or may not be causing this problem. So follow these steps:

1. Hard Reset the device. Then test the screen to see if the issue is still there. If it is - go buy a T5 or a TX cause you now have a pretty good paperweight.

2. On your PC go to the following directory: C:\program files\palm\"username" or SR\backup Rename this to backupold.

3. HotSync - this will restore your PIM data to the T. Check it at this point for issues.

4. If none - then go to the previously named file called backupold. Compare it to the backup folder. Oops, wait a minute, but you renamed the backup directory. Yes but the first thing that occurs is the PC will create a new backup folder. So take any program that exists in this new backup and referencing the backupold - delete the same named files out of this backupold folder that are in the backup folder. These are the core files that are always backedup and you don't want to restore them cuz they are "clean" of any issue.

5. One by one start adding back in the programs from the backupold (after you've deleted the core files as noted in #4). Test the device after each addition to see if the issue reoccurs. If it does - that's the bad program.

6. You will lose registration numbers for these other programs so I hope you still have them handy.

7 Go buy a good backup program that does automatic backups at timed intervals to the SD card and one that allows incremental restoration. Tealbackup or Resco Backup (my favorite). This will allow you to keep the Saved_Preference file incrementally so that you can restore it on the fly and also allow you to restore your data in the event of a failure when you are sans computer.

I do a lot of beta testing for various companies and these are the lessons learned over 10 years of Palming.
