Help needed finding a film

For some unknown reason a film has popped into my head while working tonight. I remember seeing it quite a few years ago (7 years perhaps).

Theres not a lot i can describe, but hopefully someone will know it so i can get a film title.

Firstly its a kiRAB film. It has a kind of similar plot line to Back to the Future (time travel and doing things to change how their future turns out).

I remember the opening scene involves dogs and frisbees - something like an American 'dog walking park' or it could have been a dog show of some description.

The rest involves a boy finding a space ship of some description that talks to him and takes him places - im sure time travel is involved as i remember one scene involves him going out in this space ship and when coming home finRAB someone else living in his house.

I hope that is a good description, thinking about it the description may be a miss-mash of a few films.

This is really bugging me, so if anyone can think of a film title which follows the above description i would be grateful (at least then i could either aquire the film or go to IMDb and read about it).
 
Just cheking it on IMDb now (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091059/) and i think that may be it. Cheers for that Pac, i was expecting either no replies, or people asking to be more descriptive.

I will have a read through the forums for that film on IMDb to see if it is the film i was thinking about.

I still think it is quite strange that this film popped into my head today.
 
Yep flight of the navigator :D I love that film! Hehe...best bit by far has to be the large eye:

Yeah it's the sort of film they ALWAYS show on BBC1 during a holiday period. Basically because it's a fun little family film.

The Pee Wee Herman-esque computer gets rather tiresome though.
