Hi! just got myself a New NokiaE61i, up to now fantastic!
I subscibe to Fido, Blackberry Connect plan.
Have loaded software from Nokia E61i for Blackberry connect.
From There I'm stuck, Fido has a picture step by step to load on Their own Nokia E62, But most of this does not match up with E61i...
Also I have an IMEI number on the E61i box, but no Pin number anywhere, has Fido Blackberry site requests PIN & IMEI???

I'm getting my emails having to connect each time, that's why I want to Activate Blackberry Connect.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated! Am leaving on business trip Monday night And would like to have things working.

BTW Fido NO HELP when not using their Units... Thanks Tom

Same situation, but I have the e61...

The pin was on the sticker underneath the battery. If not, open the blackberry settings application and look in the device info (rightmost) tab. The PIN is the first one listed.

If that still doesn't work, there's an application nsysinfo (google it) that will list the device PIN and IMIE.

Fido blackberry roaming in at least the western US states works well.

E61i:Load Blackberry Connect: Called US & Canada Nokia Support, Phone according to them is from Hong Kong?? told me to call them over there They are closed for now..., Fido: Stumped, Have No Idea on how to install Blackberry Connect on E61i, Tried seller (SN Traders) Cannot get a hold of anybody there....
If things don't go any better will dump the unit, anyone have any clues??
Thanks Tom

It's unclear whether you installed BB Connect or not; and if you installed BB Connect, but it doesn't run.

Either way, there are a couple versions of BB Connect - You need to be sure you install the version for your E61i's firmware.

go to
http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com/

get the client for the e61i it doesn't matter what operator you pick or what country you pick.

install the client, go to the menu, then find the blackberry folder. go to settings and your pin will be in there. go enter that pin in the BIS site for your operator. the imei and pin will show up in the blackberry settings. then hit save on your BIS site. there is an option to send service books, hit that and it will jump start the process, at this point you should be getting messages to your device.

if not, when at your home screen there should be a little blackberry flag icon that comes up on the top right of the screen. if the icon isn't there then blackberry is not installed or could be off, if the icon is there and there is a line through it, it means that your blackberry is either off or off network.

if off network, go back into the settings, then hit the right arrow once to where the options to turn it on and off are and hit options, then register now. it will register your phone with the RIM NOC. then you should get an SMS saying registration successful. if you don't then it is probably a problem with your provider, like you are on the wrong plan or something.

hope this helps, if not try following the install guide for blackberry connect on the nokia for business site. it is pretty easy.

more detail

go here:

http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com/blackberry_downloads.php

pick

region: asia pacific
carrier: other
phone: e61i

do the link to download this:

Nokia S60 BlackBerry Connect (7.1.4)_8(.SISX, 1,74 MB)
NOTE: You need software version 1.633.22.05 on your device

to check your firmware hit *#0000# from the home screen

that is how to get the client

oh, i don't know what the fido site is for BIS but it should be somewhere on their website. the first time you go to the BIS page you will probably have to make a username for the BIS service, then you can get in to the part where you need the PIN and IMEI.

Just look for the flag icon on your phone. that is your key, you can't register your PIN and IMEI until that flag has come up. so if that flag has a line, try the register now thing and if that doesn't work you will probably have to call provider to check your plan on their end.

Oh a little late but to be able to see the Blacberry Connect PIN # you have to install it as your default mailbox, turn the phone off, remove battery then power up, the pin # will then appear, (above the box with IMEI #) then you can set up the accounts online from which you want email pushed.
