what's the ammonia level?
what size tank is it?
more info please!

there wouldn't be anything wrong with the levels before you add fish, there never is.until you add a source of ammonia it's just a bucket of water. you need to add fish or pure ammonia to get the cycle going, please read up the on the nitrogen cycle, new tank syndrome, and fishless cylcing.

okay, well if you read up on the nitrogen cycle then you'd know why your fish are dying...

Were your tank decorations new or used? Washed properly?

Where did you get your tank water from? Many kitchen and bathroom sinks have traces of soaps and cleaners in the faucets.

Were the guppys in a tank with a whole bunch of other fish at the store? If so... They were probably sick when you bought them.

Did you put stress coat in the tank when you added new fish?

OK, so, Sunday we went to PetSmart and got 2 African Dwarf Frogs, a few male guppies, and a tiny Hifin Spotted Pleco. Got them home, floated the bags for a couple hours, like the people at PetSmart told us to do. After we put the fish in the tank everything was fine, they all seemed happy. All day Monday they looked fine, all swimming and seemed pretty happy. Around 3am Tuesday morning, I see one of the Turquoise Guppies at the bottom of the tank floating STRAIGHT up!
Hmmm... that can't be right!
So I use the net to kinda "nudge" him, DEAD! :(
So I start looking at all my other fish, swimming like crazy all over the place. I figure maybe it was just that one, then I notice the pleco hasn't moved in awhile, check him, DEAD!
I check the pH and the water levels and everything seems fine. After I removed them and put them in a separate jar with water to take to PetSmart I checked the water again. Everything was where it should be.
Before getting the fish, the tank was set up for 48hrs and the water was tested before we went to PetSmart and after we came home. Obviously it said everything was fine or else we would not have added the fish.
Why could they have died?
How do I prevent the rest of my fish from dying?
Also, I have a question about ADFs, do they sleep on their back?
One of mine was floating at the top of the tank, then he just like fell backwards on his back to the bottom of the tank! Of course I freaked out and hand to check if he was alive. He started kicking his arms ands legs.
Is he OK?
Is he dying?
He keeps flipping on his back at the bottom of the tank but I keep checking him and he's still alive. Is this normal?

Oh and the water temperature is around 78.

Thanks in advance!
And please, no rude comments! I've had fish before and they did great but this is my first time with guppies and ADFs. I DID do a LOT of research prior to getting them.
Like I said, I did all my research before buying any of the fish or frogs! I bought everything all the websites said and what the people at PetSmart said to get. Everything was brand new! We rinsed everything, the stones, the real plants we bought from PetSmart, the tank, EVERYTHING with out soap just like I've heard and read! I got the water from sink in the laundry room and put the stress coat in it.
The guppies and the ADFs were all in the same tank at the store. The pleco was in another one with other fish.
