I want to make some oatmeal cookies for the babies but i have no eggs and dont feel like going out just for eggs but i have apple sauce!

So does anyone know how much apple sauce you should use to replace one egg...I asked in cooking but its taking too long and my batter is sitting on the counter lol....help please....

The Ratio to replace 1 egg in a recipe is as follows:

1 egg- 1/4 cup applesauce PLUS 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
2 egg- 1/2 cup applesauce Plus 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
Etc.
The baking powder is the key, it must be used with the applesauce.

I've never heard of using applesauce to replace eggs. I've seen it used to replace oil. And I dont' think it would work -- eggs are used to bind the ingredients in cookies. (The egg hardens as it cooks, holding everything together.) Applesauce won't do that.

A vegan site I looked at suggests a mashed banana or 2 Tb cornstarch to replace one egg.

But personally .... I'd run out and buy eggs, or knock on your neighbor's door and ask to borrow an egg.
