Help me to depict a FtM character correctly?

Anyways, I'm sort of writing this story and one of the characters is a female to male tranny.

I want to make sure I depict him accurately and respectfully.

So, any advice? Tips? Personal knowledge?
Sorry about the 'Tranny" part.
