Help me solve this riddle...?

Three guys go to rent a hotel room for the night. The total was $30 so the 3 men divided it up to $10 each. The bell boy took the luggage up to the room and informed the men that they had over payed $5 so he gave them 5 $1 bills back. Not knowing how to divide it up, each man took $1 and then gave the extra $2 to the bell boy as a tip. So each man paid $9 for the room. So $9 x 3 guys= $27 plus the $2 tip = $29, Where did the extra dollar go?
 
The $2 that the bellboy kept should be subtracted from the 27 (not added).. to leave 25, which is what is still at the desk
