this is the 3rd thread i write;
iphone 3gs 32gb 3.1.2 modem 05.11
i unlock it but every time i switch it off i need to use blackra1n
please help me to solve this problem

upgrade your phone to 3.1.3 BB 5.12.1 and jailbreak with spirit and unlock with ultrasn0w
 
when i try to update i can't restore it always error code 3194
as i use tethered jailbroke
 
ok let me help you with that.......first of all go to C:Windows/system32/driver/etc in that folder you will see a file called hosts right click on that file and open with notepad add this string 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com to the end of the document and save it then connect your phone to the computer turn it off and restart your phone in dfu mode itunes will detect your phone in restore mode click on the shift key on your keyboard then click restore on itunes find the 3.1.3 restore ipsw on your computer and click on it and stand back and let it roll
 
no way iphone 3gs would upgrade to 3.1.3
not without saurik server so if u didn't TESTED by ur self or have reliable source don't post

here's way to get SHSH and check if there's one or not
 
this is not about downgrading the guy already at 3.1.2 but cant get a propper jailbreak and unlock so i was telling him to upgrade to 3.1.3 where he would be able to get a propper jailbreak and unlock.......i never heard that we have to have SHSH saved to do an upgrade
