HELP ME PLEASE with my period and summer camp?

so i am expected to get my period the day that i am going away to camp. It will be from August 2 to the 7. that will be about the exact time i should be getting my stupid period. this is my first year at the camp and my first year of having a period, but i am already regular. none of the girls i am going with have started yet, and they will make fun of me if they knew that i had started. I really want to go swimming too. I have tampons but i haven't tried them yet....my mom said she wants to explain to me first. I am also really nervous about trying them too. I just really need some suggestions! Since i have never been before, i don't know anything about it at all. just please help me!

ok well since u want to swim you should really try to use tampons. and they are so comfortable you don't even feel like you're on your period! if you have cramps too just bring some midol, and since it has caffeine it could give you some extra energy at camp! anyway just try a tampon and if they don't work then don't go swimming and use pads. tampons are not as bad as they seem! good luck and god bless!!
