Help me pick SIMPLE GSM quadband

My eyes are glazed over searching for a phone. I hope someone can help me.

Here's what I need:

1. Unlocked
2. Works in U.S. and Europe
3. Reliable, well made
4. Small

What I don't need:

1. Music
2. Data
3. Camera
4. Other assorted bells & whistles

One thing that's stumped me in my search, I've seen some unlocked quadband phones advertized on Amazon as "U.S. version" or "International version". If the phone is unlocked and has the proper bands, what difference does it make?

Thank you empowerauto, but both of those phones have all the features that I do not need and is lacking the ones I do.

I have an iPhone, an iPod, a camera and a Dell mini. I just want a gsm phone that will take a Telestial SIM card that I can use for travel in Europe. I have about 100 euros left on the SIM and my old phone died. I just need a phone to make/receive calls while travelling in Europe. I want the quad band so I can use it every now and then in the U.S. to keep the SIM card active. It expires if you don't use it, that's why I need all 4 bands.

The 2730 is a pretty basic phone.

One thing you should understand is most phones in general these days are going to have a ton of features that you may not need but they will be there anyways.

The E52 may be a bit more than you need for sure but I only recommended it because of it's quality.

Finding a quad band phone that is high quality quality but has zero for features and is small really puts you in a pickle.

Both I listed meet ALL of your criteria.

I've been thinking about your requirements and most phones that don't have cameras or music players and are really basic are dual-band phones. You might want to look at older or refurbished phones if money is a concern. Motorola has a lot of basic quadband phones. If you are only using it in the USA sometimes then perhaps a triband 900/1800/1900 would work for you and there are lots of phones with that spec.
