It's an older movie, it starts off with a news reporter who is searching for her husband and also for an odd creature that there have been reports of. On her trip there her plane crashes and she survives, then quits the news team and goes in search of the creature by herself. Once she arrives where the creature was claimed to have been seen an older couple points her in the direction of where there were rumors of the creature living. She gets to the village and the people show her where the creature is and offer to take her there the next day but the people of the village get her drunk and send her as an offering to the creature. Once she wakes up she meets the creature and they talk for a while and she convinces him to get out and see places. They become somewhat famous and the creature wants to find the only man in the world that can kill him to put him at ease, I believe the man was a scientist. In the end the scientist builds a machine to kill the creature. Also I remember the creature was a serious alcoholic.
