for example, i have Graveworm's cover of "Losing My Religion", and i've heard Diablo's cover of "Dancing Queen."

i know there's a death metal band out there that covered "The Sound of Silence." and then you have metal banRAB covering classic metal songs, like all the covers of iron maiden songs and such. Bodom's cover of Rebel Yell.

help me find shit like that, please. just give me artists and songs they've covered. i'll do the looking. of course, if you know of a link where i can get it, post it.

Fear Factory did Cars by Gary Numan. Is that the kind of thing you're looking for, or are they too non-metal?

And what kind of metal do you mean? Only the really hardcore stuff or do you include Faster Pussycat (You're So Vain - Carly Simon) and all that 90s glam?

i think it was nevermore that covered sounRAB of silence..

i gotta do work now, but i'll make you a list of songs like this after hockey tonite.

to start, sentenced covered radiohead - creep, & faith no more - digging the grave
today is the day covered wicked game.
scar culture covered faith no more - supprise, you're dead.
atreyu covered bon jovi - you give love a bad name.
mushroomhead covered a song as the last track on their newest cd, but i forget what it was.

bodom covered priest's "hellion".

i'll have to find the dio cover of dream on.

all the iced earth covers i already know about. dark tranquillity covered 22 acacia avenue.

oh, can someone tell me who it was that covered "final countdown"? it's often marked as dark tranquillity online, but it wasn't them.

type o negative did many covers, including "cinnammon girl" (neil young), "hey pete" (hey joe - hendrix), "summer breeze" (seals & croft), black sabbath's "paranoid" and "black sabbath".

entombed covered mc5's "kick out the jams", "march of the s.o.d." (s.o.d.), a venom song..

brutal truth did "wish you were here" (pink floyd)

napalm death did a kick-ass cover of "nazi punks fuck off" (dead kennedys)

kyuss did a good cover of sabbath's "into the void"

come to think of it, just about everyone has covered a black sabbath or slayer song even tori amos (raining blood).

there's tons more, this is off the top of my head.

yeah, everyone has covered sabbath. a LOT of sabbath bloody sabbath covers. today is the day, amon amarth, lots of people have covered that song.

keep 'em coming, and thanks for the help. i just really like covers.

there's an album in the rotation at work that's lounge covers of metal songs. there's "holy diver", some priest, all sorts of stuff. then there's the bluegrass album of AC/DC songs. i like it all, but i'm focusing on metal right now.

i want to do a metal cover of madonna's "la isla bonita".

thats a great song

the only metal cover i do these days is patti smith/don henly 'sometimes love just ain't enough'

i've done tons & tons over the years though.

opeth did circle of tyrants & remember tomorrow. anthrax also did remember tomorrow.

poison the well did smashing pumpkins - today.

type o negative did a cover of daytripper that busted into she's so heavy.

not really a "metal" cover, but it was on snakenet: infectious grooves did "immigrant's song". that's one that neeRAB HEAVY metal covering. amon amarth-type covering.

i remember seeing one site that listed artists then had all the known covers they had played and anyone who convered them. Forgot the addy. You could try searching i guess. The artist i was looing at was ben folRAB if that helps (pretty far from metal), but they had a bunch there.

They also did "Fame" by david bowie. I was going to list those yesterday, but IG isn't really metal.

And I liked the Type-O daytripper cover. That whole CD is pretty good, actually.

tool has a cover of no quarter by zepplin, im not sure if that counts, but the song is amazing, i think better than zepplin

Evergreen Terrace has an entire CD full of covers that they just recently released...

its titled "Writers Block".

they cover everything from U2 to Smashing Pumpkins to Tears for Fears.
