Help me find a fix to my 2001 Toyota Sienna!?

My 2001 Toyota Sienna randomly fails to start. It can be anytime, anywhere, with no pattern. We have tried replacing the starter, and also the starter relay switch. Our mechanic is stumped! The only way we have figured out to start the car is to wait 10 or more minutes, OR, shift gears while holding the key in start position (which can work right away).
