Finally saw the Captivate for the first time since we never have this on this side of the pond. Docomo here is replacing the Galaxy S i9000T (international Galaxy S with 850 3G) with it. The body design looks a lot sleeker than the i9000. It can go for looks alone.
All the Sammy phones of late are just plastic. Even the Omnia 7, which I have personally handled. Actually the Captivate looks sleeker than the Omnia 7, but both, like the Nexus S, are slabs of black plastic.
The last time I remember a Samsung smartphone that actually has some metal on the design was the original Wave (S5800). That phone can sell on its looks alone and I bet it did, since it did sell millions even with an unknown OS (Bada) and not a lot of apps.
