Help me convince my parents to let me purchase this car?

Ok so I found a cheap car for 12k, very reliable economical car for a great price, low miles, but my parents won't listen to me about the car, I turn 17 in just 2 months, and I need this car for like everything school related, sports related, etc. I have about 9000 right now, but I need 4000 from my parents. I don't know of any family members who will cosign the car. My parents are really stubborn about this and will barely talk about this situation. Our finances are fine and I have good grades if that helps, I am not spoiled at all. I have a job as well.
I actually have about 10k
 
if your looking to buy from a dealer brand new, maybe look for one on craigslist localy. save alot of money so you can pay for gas. other wise if the car you want is used, make an offer. Good Luck, in same parent convincing process!
