Help me convert from Moto....

Hello All,

I currently have the Motorola SLVR L7 and have grown tired of it and passing it on to the wife.

I have been a loyal Moto client for years and have owned almost every model. I am ready to try something else, what can you guys recommend?

I am leaning towards the SE w810I or should I consider something else?

Thanks to all you mobile junkies out there?

Wirelessly posted (Samsung-SPHA900 AU-MIC/2.0 MMP/2.0)

You've been converted, funny my wife is getting my SLVR 7 too lol i picked up the w810i

crap., ironically MY wife, vetoed 'inheriting' my L.7 and stole the W810i that we just hupped to

how the HECK did you guys blindly pull That one over?

So I gather from the responses that I am making a wise choice with the SE w810I?

My wife right now has a RAZR and she is looking forward to getting her hands on the L7, so it was fairly easy?

wow...that post after mine (forget who it was who posted it) Anemic Royalty??

I think in the seconds that it was posted, and the thread was moved it got zapped.
I was gonna quote "n00bery"

i have an 800i and it's fantastic for music and photos, as well as calling and texting. SE t9 implementation is great. and SE UI is so much nicer than Moto.

speaking of wives getting the hand-me-down toys ... my wife has a samsung t809 and has never had any envy for my w800i ... we got them at the same time when we switched to T Mob. i actually kind of envy her phone - the form factor is nicer than the w800i. i don't like samsung's UI much, though, or else i might sell my phone in favor of a d900.

I'm planning on getting the Sony Ericsson K790a, which will hopefully be out soon. It has several imporvments over the W810i, most importantly the 3.2 MP camera with flash and A2DP for wireless stereo headphones, but there are also a few concessions like the lack of the 900MHz band and it uses the less common M2 Memory Stick format instead of the Pro Duo.

As far as I know the siblings K790i and the K800i are readily available, while the K790a has not been shipped yet and will not likely ship until September. If you know a place that does have stock is selling them right now, please do post a link.

As for the 900MHz band, yes I know it's not used in the US but if you ever travel to Europe from the US and you only have an 850MHz triband you may have to spring for another phone.

I was just saying that is one advantage the W810i has over the K790a, which is the quadband capability if you are a world traveller from the US.
