help me choose a new pda

So the only pda I've owned is my sidekick 2, so I'm not really sure what my needs are. I've got it narrowed down to the blackjack, treo 680, 8525, and treo 750. I'm definitely going with cingular, but not sure on the phone, or if the price difference is worth it for the two higher end models. I'm just looking for some advice from some experienced pda owners. I already know mostly everything about all of these phones, just looking for suggestions basically.

Ill be using the phone for web browsing first and formost (I work at a call center, so when its slow I sit at my desk with not much else to do), organizing bills and other important dates, using it as a phone. Most likely using it with a slingbox or orb.com, and light amount of texting/im.

I like the blackjack, but not sure if its powerful enough and if the wm sp is too limited. I've also heard tons of bad news about the battery, and I'm a heavy web user so I'm sure I'd kill it. Solutions though are the extended battery, or I sit at my desk most the day so I could have it plugged in. I also love the scroll wheel.

The treo 750 and 680 form factors I love! But 240x240 screen on the 750 bugs me and I don't think the palm os on and edge on the 680 would be good enough.

The 8525 is definitely the most feature packed, but not sure how much I would like the slide out keyboard, and the one-handed use doesn't sound easy.

So I'm leaning towards the blackjack because its cheaper, got 3g, and I think ill live without the awesomeness of a touch screen, but I'm still not positive. I just wish the htc cavalier would come out because I like that design much more.

What does everyone suggest? I'd like to get a phone that I won't feel I have to replace in less than a year due to aging technology. Thanks.

Ps. If anyone knows how the 3g coverage in seattle is, that'd be great.

I would suggest getting the 8525. It is by far the most powerful device on your list. The screen is very nice, and when the keyboard is open and it is in landscape mode, it provides a much better web experience, than the narrow or portrait mode available in the Treo. It is a little more future proof, in that it has a more powerful processor than the Treo, It has Wifi and the Treo does not, The keyboard is leaps and bounds better than the Keyboard of the Treo, especially if you have fingers larger than a small child (I only have experience with the Treo 650, not the 750, but they are very similar). Finally I know this is maybe not the best reason to choose a device, but it neater than the Treo. It is like a little Transformer in your Pocket, it has a hidden Keyboard. It just feels to me like a James Bond device, I know it is silly and a little subjective, but I really enjoy that form in a device. As for choosing PocketPC over the slightly less powerful Smartphones Like the Blackjack. If you never have a Pocketpc you wont feel like you are missing anything, but once you try PocketPC the limitations of the Smartphone Platform become abundantly obvious. As for the Treo 680, it is running a four year old operating system, so it is not as future proof as the rest of the choices on your list.

I was thinking about that the 8525 wouldn't be that different from my sidekick 2 I have, just way better. Even though I love the treo form factor, I just don't think it offers enough to be priced the same as the 8525. It really should be priced inbetween the blackjack and 8525. So now I just need to decide if its worth paying $200 more for the 8525 over the blackjack.

I know my opinion probably doesnt weigh to heavily on your decision, But I definitely think it is worth the 200 dollars. After all I bought one

Yeah, and if I end up not liking it I can always trade for a treo 750 or sell for like 5-600 and buy an unlocked blackjack and have extra cash. Now I have to just be patient and save money!

I can get the 8525 for 300 on amazon. That's the best deal I've seen. There's better ones with mib's, but the upfront price is more. Happen to know of any cheaper deals?

No that is as low as I have seen. I got mine for 450 with no contract. but 300 is pretty good. When you get it head over to the PocketPC section. We welcome the noobs.
