i would like to have a group of fish in my tank. i have a 5 gallon tank( i know that it is small,) so dont think im mean to fish. i dont want to have 50 fish in it, i just want to have 4,5,6. so i would like to know what fish could live in it together. dont say like 5 fish of one species, just tell me different kinds. it would be great if you told me more than 5 or 6 so i could have a variety to choose from.
please also tell me the fishs sex if you can, so two males dont fight over 1 female. and please keep it on the cheap side.
THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!

That tank is too small to have a community in. With a tank that small all you could have is one fish 2-4 inches or maybe two guppies or two tetras or a beta. If you really want a community tank with 4-6 fish and with the avg size of most community type fish, you would need to get a 20 gal tank.

Starting a tank is not very cheap either. To get started you need the tank, lighting, heater, thermometer, gravel, decorations, air pump, tubing and air stones, chemicals to condition the water, filter and filter cartridges, fish net, water testing strips, siphon, and finally fish.

You can buy starter kits in general pet stores, but they don't provide everything I've listed.

Having an aquarium can be fun and easy when you know what you're doing. Research fish care and tank unkeep to help you decide if having a community tank is something you can handle.

As mentioned, most small species are schooling, so none would be appropriate for that size tank.
Or you could try to clarify your question. It's somewhat difficult to understand exactly what you want the way it's worded.
