*The snack shack sold mini-pizzias or burritos as luch options. The frist customer bought 1 mini- pizza and 2 burritos and paid $6.00. The second customer bought 3 mini- pizzas and 2 burritos for $12. How much does each mini-pizza and each burrito cost at the snack shack?

1P + 2B = 6.00 Eq. (1)
3P + 2B = 12.00 Eq. (2)

3P + 2B = 12.00 Eq. (2)
1P + 2B = 6.00 Eq. (1)
-----subtract-----------------
2P = 6.00
P = 6.00/2 = $3.00 per each mini-pizza

3P + 6B = 18.00 Eq. (1) × 3
3P + 2B = 12.00 Eq. (2)
-----subtract--------------------
4B = 6.00
B = 6.00/4 = $1.50 per burrito

*The sum of digits of a two-digit number is 12. If you reverse the digits, the new number is 36 greater than the original number. Find the original number.

Let the number be 10t + u where t is the tens digit and u is the units digit
t + u = 12
10u + t ................ The number with the digits reversed
10u + t = 10t + u + 36
9u – 9t = 36
u – t = 4
2u = 16
u = 16/2 = 8
8 – t = 4
t = 4
The number is 10(4) + 8 = 48 .............. the original number
84 – 48 = 36
