My right lower back started to hurt earlyer today. Now both sides of my lower back is pulsating with pain. It hurts to move. Feels like someone punched me really hard in lower back. Why is this, and what should I do???

Hi Lily-Do you remeraber straining your back in any way or heavy lifting or lifted or stretched the wrong way? Do you have any pain or tingling in your leg or foot? Have you tried Advil or an anti-inflammatory to see how it helps You? Any trouble going to the bathroom at all? When you rub your lower back does that seem to ease your back muscles or is there pain burning when you touch your lower back? Have you tried icing or mild heat after icing? If it continues you may need to go to the ER if there's no relief after Advil. Take care. Sara

No straining, lifting, or stretching. No pain anywhere els. Tried advil, tylenol, ibprophen. And it still hurts. There's a small stinging sensation when going pee. The pain feels more in side of lower back. Touching lower back dose no good. Do you know what it might be??

It may be a UTI urinary tract infection if it stings when you pee. The only way to get it checked out is to visit the Urgent Care or ER since everything is closed today and give a urine sample and they may do blood work especially with side or back pain around your kidney area. If you have a bladder infection it could get worse and go up to your kidneys and cause back pain so you'll need to get it checked out today. Hopefully it's quiet in ER and it should be being Christmas. So don't take any more tylenol or advil as it masks a fever and let them know if you have a fever if you did earlier. I hope everythings okay. Take care. Sara

Pain on urination does mean it could be kidney or UTI, etc. That neeRAB urgent care in case you have a serious infection, large kidney stones, etc.
