Help! LG9700 keeps rebooting

Hi All,

I just had my LG9700 (DARE) flashed from Verizon to Cricket. Voice was working but web was not. I went into the service menu on the phone to change my user name and when I rebooted the phone it just keeps rebooting.

FYI: I do have the 9700 drivers loaded and the pc recognizes it when I plug it in, but since the phone keeps rebooting it just keeps connecting and disconnecting (connect beeps, and disconnect beeps) because it continually reboots itself.

I searched this forum everywhere and cannot find a way to fix it. I tried bitpim but it will not connect to the phone. I tried LGdownload and it will not connect either.

I tried putting it into download mode by pressing all three buttons on the front and the screen does go into download mode but neither bitpim nor lgdownload will access it.

Isn't there a way to get into the phone and just change the username back? If not, do I need to do another full flash? And if so, how do I do that and what program can I use?

I do apologize if there is a solution already posted on this forum, but I have searched for 2 days now and can only find instructions for other phones (9900) and have tried them, but, they do not work for my phone. Thank you for your patience and help in advance.

This has been discussed actually many times. In the thread about the Dare...
You didnt follow insturctions and now are in boot loop mode... To you recover you need to flash the frimware back to the phone with the bin, dll scr. You will need to place in EMERGENCY mode and USE EMERGENCY on lg downloader.. It will reqonize it when you flash the bin to the phone. After its been flashed and the phone boots up. You need to rewrite the ORIGINAL esn to the phone as emergency mode resets esn to default 0's after that write the SCR and ERI and you're phone will be working again.

Thank you Amoamare,

Sorry, I realized that there were 250+ more pages of posts that I needed to look.

With your help, I Got it up to the point where it says "Service Required". Can't figure out how to rewrite the original esn back to it though. Any suggestions? Also, I have not been able to find an "SCR" file for the 9700 yet either. Any help is greatly appreciated.

to write the right MEID to the phone just use CDMA Workshop the last version on the meid write option. the SCR i dont know if we can post it overhere but if one of the moderators let me do it i will post it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I was able to flash the bin file to the phone from emergency bootloader mode using LGNPST. I was able to load the cricket prl file (5143 I think), but it does not seem to do anything. I thought that was where the SID, NID and other nam stuff was located. I searched google all over and can't find QPST anywhere even if I paid for it! All the links seem to be down.

Can anyone tell me what makes the phone say "Service Required"? I filled in the MDN and MIN and MCC fielRAB. Thanks again!

You can use CDMA Workshop instead. Get the newest version. It only costs $100 and you will make your money back pretty quickly with that little program..

Thanks InsaneCain,

Well, I finally got it fixed sort of. I used the meid/esn repair guide that TonyCortes wrote (Thanks Tony!). Worked great. I got voice and basic text messaging. However, I can't seem to get web or MMS. Tried everything including BerryIthird's tutorial on the LG9700. Any one got any ideas what I may be missing? Thanks in advance!

Double check the paramtable1.fil. Make sure you change that to 20 instead of 00. Also, make sure the plan includes MMS and internet. If you don't change the paramtable1.fil, the settings won't stick... I hope this helps.

read the right tutorial...lots of the people in this thread have no clue what they are talking about. Amoamare spelled it out for you....

btw... there is not paramm1table to replace on the dare. its no wonder you are bricking expensive devices

his issue has been already resolved, I added information for those who search and read the thread for help and leaRAB. try to be a little nicer.
