I recently bought a new bicycle. I assembled it myself and everything seemed to be working fine. After riding it for a short time, though, the right pedal came off. It looks as though the threads are entirely stripped. I ordered new pedals, and am having trouble screwing them in. Does anybody know what I can do to properly install the new pedals? I don't want to end up trying to force them and stripping a perfectly good new set of pedals.
Yes, I know what direction the pedals are supposed to screw in. Even if I didn't, I have directions right in front of me. My problem is that I am following the directions and the right pedal just doesn't seem to be screwing in properly.
