Please help anyone. I'm going to be in AP physics this year and I have summer homework to do. The thing is this is my first physics class I don't really understand some of the problems and I don't know if the answers I have are correct. If anyone can help I'll appreciate it.
The story is;
10 meters of a 100m dash are covered in 2 seconds who starts from rest and accelerates with a constant acceleration. The remaining 90 meters are run with the same velocity the sprinter had after 2 seconds.
The questions are;
A) Determine the sprinters constant acceleration during the first 2 seconds: I got 5 m/s2
B) Determine the sprinters velocity after 2 seconds: I didn't know how to solve.
C) Determine the total time needed to run the full 100m: I don't know if this is right but I ended up with 6.3 seconds.
Thanks in advance.
