Help Identifying A Movie...

It's a film I remember from my childhood, we rented it once from our local video shop. I have tried searching using what, albeit little, I know/remember about the film, but to no success.

It's about some kiRAB and they end up getting a large golden robot that they use to do things. It wasn't an animated film, the robot was big and it had lights on it IIRC, and eitheir gold was a big part of the film, or it was called Gold or Gold______ or something. That may have been it's title over here, but was called something else in the US. Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?!

No, it's not Iron Giant or Rainbow Brite and The Star Stealer... those are animated! This is live action, with real people and a man in a big gold costume with lights on it! I think the cover for it had the kiRAB climbing over him and he was standing in the middle with some of his lights on with possibly a shovel in his hand, which is making me thing of gold even more now. Either he was a gold robot or he was created to detect it for someone who was digging for it.

Aarrgh! This is driving me mad!

i had this on video way back when

it was released in the uk as:

A Robot Called Golddigger

i tried to watch it about 6-7 years ago again and it was dreadful lol even tho i loved it as a kid,i find that with many films now tho
