Help identify this movie.

I am trying to track down a move name but for the life of me cant remember it so will give a description below and see if you out there can help identify it.

It is based in an eastern bloc prision (I think!) where a young male is locked up and shows how he suffers and nearly goes mad. It enRAB with a powerful endeing where he enRAB up killing and dressing as a guard and walking out the entrance of the prision and the final shots show him running away.

I think it may actually be a true story too. It was shown on possibly channel 4 a few years ago but they being difficult and says they do not keep listes of old film descriptions.

I have actually never seen it so just a guess but its not Midnight Express is it?

It is midnight Express. I thought it was a great film. The part where he rips out that guys tongue with his teeth was probably the most horrid thing to watch in the entire film.
