Help ID a movie?

I need to try and track down a movie that I have no idea when it was released, who stared in it or what it was called!

All I remember is, the story looked similar to the X-Men. Bunch of gifted kiRAB at a school learning to use their powers, then everything goes nuts and they have to use them to fight. The trailer had someone shooting blue lightning at people and had a feel of the recent Kung Fu Hustle about it.

I think it may have been an Asian movie and was on the shelves in Blockbuster this time last year.

A virtual pint for anybody who can help ID this!!!

I'm not really sure from your description, but it could be Hero??
Though I'm not really sure how similar to X-Men I would describe that. It's Asian and was out on DVD last year, and is knug-fuish.

Indeed she was....a very young looking Courtney Cox at that... Quality Film, thought for years I was one of the only ones who watched it.... shame it isnt on DVD, nothing like some pure cheese every once in a while.
