As a pre-med student (a few years back), biological science was my major. I became interested in biological science while working in a small radiology department in a little Podunk town, I developed an appreciation for the human body and just how complex yet simple it is. My advice to you is to tour a radiologist's office and look at x-rays and also a morgue. Watch a lot of TruTV, i.e. Forensic Files, etc. That may peak your interest in biology. I guest when it comes down to it, the interest is either inside you or it isn't.

Well, I want to be a singer, but my parents are insisting on a "better: job like a doctor of some sort.
So I was planning to take AP bio in high school just in case I have a change in plans as far as my career goes.
But the problem here is that, I have a huge affliction with biology. I find it mega boring. I always slack off, never understand it, don't pay attention due to the amount of boredom that's involved.
How can I have a better interest at it?
It's simply bored listening to the teacher yak about the bullshit minuscule cells in our body.
*about SOME bullshiz..
Yes, I've already learned about dominant and recessive trait, I don't need to be given a lecture about that.

NEVER pick a career based on what your parents tell you to do.
Most biology jobs are being taken by immigrants who work for less.

Doctors and lawyers have the highest suicide rates. Find a job you like, and you will always be happy, and interested.
A good job is not just one that pays, but one that you want.

If you are really into singing, but are being blocked by your parents, remember there is a lot to the music biz. Like all the mixing and editing, and all the biz end of it. Don't be afraid to learn those things. You can always "fall back" on being an electronics or sound engineer, or a programmer or producer.
Simon Cowel is a producer.

My friend was dissuaded to play bass in a band, and, honestly, he wasn't very good. But through his Auto-cad training, he got a job designing guitars at a major guitar manufacturer, before high-school was even over.

of course hard work is involved, that will never go away. What do you think of this: Write your own songs, with or without music; with music what if you replace a favorites' song with your own words. Maybe make up a dance too. I mean about any definition in Bio.
I have never heard a keratin cell sing, make a song out of that.
cordially me

same thing happen to me lol
im going to be a engineer tech and i need science class so i took chemistry and biology last year and it was hard and so boring
just ask ur best freinds to have the same class with you and try to have fun in the class that help me a lot lol
or do what i did flirt with the teacher and she will give u an A+
trust me ill work

I used to think the same way, I hated biology, but this year when I took AP Bio. and it turns out that it is really interesting. In the beginning, you fell a little overwhelming but as you get into it later in the year you will find that everything in our body is very simple at a basic level and on a big picture you see all that makes us alive. Trust me if you want to know yourself better this is the only good change. Change your thinking about it and things will start to change for you.... :)

Honestly, Biology is all about memorization, it's so complicated as appose to chemistry or physics, so you're most likely to have interest in this subject more then the others. One thing I like personally is learning about DNA and what's recessive or dominant in your genes that make you look like your parents or that may carry on to your children. For Example, if both your parents have blue eyes then it's a guarantee you will too, if one of them however has brown and the other has blue, then it's more likely you'll have brown because it's dominant. However you need to consider your grandparents after that because what they had could affect it too. Lol just saying that I found it interesting :P hopefully you'll like it or I might just be boring you with my nerdyness, sorry if I did :).

Hmmm... i'm majoring in biology so I can't say that I don't find it interesting. However, I was at the same place as you in high school, I HATED it with a passion. College classes are much different though, especially if your teacher is passionate about the subject. You do get into interesting subjects eventually in bio like genetics, micro, and zoology. Still though, every class will have its boring days. Just try to make it through class as best you can...that's all I ever do anyway lol
