Help. I get this message: Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL

extension which is require? I tried to go to a website I visit frequently but I go this message:

Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

I haven't done anything to make this happen. I haven't changed any setting at all. IT just happened all of a sudden.
What is the problem and what do I do to fix it? Will it fix itself?

P.S I am a novice to technology so don't get too detailed on me
Please help!!!!!
