salon or can I fix it? ** = please read
So last night my friends talked me into bleaching my hair at home as opposed to going to the salon because it's so expensive. So I bleached it, and not it's very pale yellow at the roots and on top, then it gets progressively darker all the way to a burnt orange in the back. My natural hair color is dark brown/black, and my hair doesn't look too damaged (it isn't fried & I used deep conditioner). Would it be a big mistake to use a black box dye (which I've done many times before on non-bleached hair) to cover up some of the problem, or is it vital that I go to the salon?
**I know everyone is automatically going to say I need to go to my stylist and have corrective coloring done, but quite honestly I'm not sure I have the money. Unless I'm at risk for losing my hair or having it damaged beyond repair, I really can't afford it.
Also, can anyone give me some kind of guesstimate as to how much having corrective color done would cost? I called my salon, but they said they cannot give any form of estimate without a consultation. My hair is chin-length and still relatively smooth & healthy looking, despite being bleached.
