HELP!! How to create a hotspot on a php file with dreamweaver?

I know how to create a hotspot on an HTML page using dreamweaver but unfortunately, the links aren't working when i use the same technique for a PHP file, it is like i didn't add the hotspots at all. Any ideas? Your help would me much appreciated!
