also, the tail lights and the power windows do not work and my key control for locking and unlocking the door don't work as welll.

If you dont use the proper jumper leads in modern cars you run the very real risk of frying your cars computers.Hell of a lot cheaper to buy the correct jumper leads.

unplug it, then see if you can take it out of park, if it don't its most likely the brake switch
