recently my sister sent me a t-mobile g1 frm usa which she had been using frm a year. i live in asia. the phn used to work fine although it was unlocked. i was able to use everything else beside calling. then in some posts i read that factrory resetting will unlock the phone. so i did it.. but now i have a huge problem.. before doing reset i was able go to home page, use internet, play games but now i cannot access to anything.. when i put my sim the phn says open a google account. i put my gmail account but it says cannot access to to google check ur sim...... neither does it shows the page where i can enter the unlocking code.....
plzzzz any one who can helppp... helpppppppppppppppppppppppp.

What they ask is if you use for example China Mobile or Unicom You have a contract to call or you buy the minutes(prepaid) and if you add the feature to connect to the internet or just send SMS

I took the data plan but still its not working. the internet opens when i insert my sim card in other phn but does not run in G1??? whats happeninh.. i hav kept all the apn address correct but still not working????????

If the internet works on your phone via WiFi, then you know the phone itself is fine.

If the SIM card lets you access data via the mobile network (with WiFi off) in another phone, then that means your data plan is OK.

If you can access any other network services (such as downloading some apps on the Market), but not all websites in the browser, then check if you have a "content lock" on your account with your mobile provider - this is sometimes set up to stop people under 18 looking at naughty websites or using naughty apps. This is sometimes activated by default, even if you're 80 years old.

If you can't access any mobile data (WiFi off) at all with anything on the phone, but you can on another phone with the same SIM, then it's almost certainly the APN settings that are wrong. How do you know they're correct?
