Im Jona 18yrs old, on Friday I was on the computer after working a long day. Stayed on computer all night and morning til 4am, I was close to monitor screen and drank 2 coke a colas. Upon turning off the computer my mind spinned, my vission became wierd, felt really lighted head, sort of a marijuana high. I should have been tired, but had lots of energy and restlessness. I freak out. then panic. I ask mom to give me a PM pill to help me fall a sleep. Which I did sleep.

When I woke, I felt light headed, same symptoms as above, but not as intense. I don't have that energy high like I did last night. Its been 3 days. I went to doctor on Monday, and was prescribe anti anxiety pills, and on Tuesday, I still feel a sense wierdness with light headed, does't feel normal in my head. Now the doctor wants me to see psychiratris. Im concern. I don't know what it is.

Im feel a distorted reality. I also feel fear, scared and don't want to be left alone at all. I feel this could be permanant which led me to be scared. Could it be a brain tumor? could it be a computer related brain damage? Could it be depression? Could it be that im a vegetarian? Im confuse and lost...help.

Johnny117: you could be having a seizure. Computers and all electronic devices emit EMF's which can cause the brain to go haywire. It tells you right on the nintendo game packages that if you have epilepsy not to use the games so you won't have a seizure. Get an appointment with a neurologist and get an EEG done and maybe even an MRI. Also get your eyes checked by the eye doctor. You're only 18, your brain is still growing.

Seizure triggers are: fluorescent lights, stress, lack of sleep, MSG, EMF's, allergies, plastics, and in women they could be hormone related.

Also, see if you can get your blood sugars checked to make sure you don't have hypoglycemia. Good luck.

Hey thanks for responding
my mom wrote all that because i was feeling to weird to type
It seems it's going
it's lightheadedness and a spacy feeling

ever since the computer incident i haven't been able to shake of the feeling
It's starting to interrupt my daily living

I would gladly appreciate more advice

has anyone gone through the same thing

with the lightheadedness?

i feel like time goes slower and like i am floating
like that feeling you get when you have a fever and you stand up

am not dizzy but just feel weird

we will be visiting an eye doctor and hopefully a neurologist

i would love if someone added more information to this thread

Am getting scared
:/

Johnny117: i felt the same things you are feeling when I had to work in front of the computer during many many hours for several days. I felt lightheaded, weird, had the thing called de-realization, etc. But I was not physically tired, just mentally. I felt like my brain was demanding an extended break.

In my case, it was also chronic anxiety which led me to panic attacks later on. When working on the computer for many hours a lot of the muscles are affected (eye muscles, neck, arms, back, etc). The blood circulation plays a big part in the lightheadedness and so do the electromagnetic fields from the computer.

You should visit the doctor but I believe you are fine. Relaxation techniques and stretching can help if done correctly and for long periods of time. Find out more about relaxation techniques in the internet...believe me, they help.
About the computers, that's a tough one. We are spending too much time in front of these machines...

Johnny117: See if you can get to a healthfood store and get something to detoxify your body. They'll be able to help you find what you need.

Hey thanks for the advice
how exactly is detoxifying my body gonna help ?

also,i am really sure i have been through derealization
like someone else mentioned

am not scared anymore
ill learn to live with it
live more healthy and hope it leaves

also the relaxation techniques and whatever else i need to do

also can you elaborate how long it took you to get over it and weather you got really scared and possibly suicidal

should i stay away from the computer and tv?

thank you so much for your response by the way

this is scary
how long does de realization last usually?

Johnny117: There are pills you can get at a healthfood store that help to remove toxins, heavy metals, free radicals, and other stuff that builds up in the blood from all the foods we eat and drink and the air we breathe. Look online about it and I'm sure it will explain it better than I can.

I felt that I could handle stress pretty easily until I started to have some of the symptoms you described yourself. I was wrong: we get older, our body and mind change and so does our response to stress. Also, some of us are more sensitive than others and/or have the tendency to accumulate stress.
That's why we have to monitor stress in a daily basis - without getting paranoid about it.

The de-realization lasted for a few days. In my case, sleeping well was vital to start overcoming the problem. I had to slow down. Even the relaxation techniques can be challenging at the beginning because we want to go as fast as possible and see results right away. You learn how your body responds to the exercises and to your new attitude.

We depend on computers so it's hard to stay away from them. But it's not too difficult to incorporate relaxation techniques and other positive habits into our lives.

Last, but not least: once you feel better, don't go back to your old habits of extended hours in front of the computer, stress, etc. I did that and had to go back to square one. I believe it's a lifetime commitment.

best, Odra111
