I have damage to my lower back, groin & thigh, got nerve root block which made it worse. The pain is horrible, I took 600mg of ibuprofen & after awhile it felt better but my blood pressure went up high. I know it's the inflamation affecting the nerves, is there anything else I can take for inflamation that won't affect my BP? Thanks

Have you tried "ice" to help with the pain?

I am recovering from shoulder surgery and it is amazing how much the Mueller Ice Packs from Wal-Mart reduce the pain. You can use ice in a plastic bag wrapped in a towel also. I like the convenience of the ice packs.

Thank you, yes I have tried the ice & it does work good, just looking for as many things as I can find.

I took ginger & ibuprofen 600 last night & today it's pretty good. Can't take too much ibuprofen will make my pressure go up.

I used to take Mobic(meloxicam) before my surgery. It's a NSAID. Kinda works likes ibuprofen but stronger, worked good for me.

Your physician can let you know what is safe for high blood pressure and inflammation. Either that or a pharmacist. Tylenol/acetopminophen is not an anti-inflammatory. The over the counter anti-inflammatories are Advil (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen), and Aspirin.
