Help for C90 CHEK

chief calm down

New member
I've got a friend that MUST to sell a 2005 C90. I'll not go into details, but she's never driven it, and cannot because it's too heavy for her to even move.
She just wants to get the mileage off of the odometer and start it up... but when she turns on the ignition, all the display gives is "CHEC".
Even the "sel" and "adj" don't let her see anything else.

BTW, we suspect that the ignition interlock module - next the fuse box may be damaged or removed. Haven't taken off the side covers to check this yet, but will do this ASAP.

This dilemma was posed to me over the phone, so I haven't actually checked about the ignition module.. It may have been removed by the last driver for spite. We've got a replacement handy, though.

No, I don't think she tried to start it, because she still can't move it by herself. She should know about the kill switch anyway..
All she wants right now (until someone can look at the ignition module) is the odometer mileage!

The first big question is:
would the CHEK message be displayed with/without the kill switch or the ignition module?

Yes, it was the little diode module for the ignition interlock circuit.
Replaced and it started after about 5-6 tries. The bike sat for about 3 weeks. Now seems to run rough. (do NOT ask me if I think it's lean or rich) I think it once had a Power Commander EFI module.
Anyone know where someone would/should put one of those so we don't have to tear into everything. Oh and if we do find ther is/was one, what's the best way to put everything 'back to stock' for proper mapping?
We do have the original pipes, but don't have a clue as to what the actual make of the pipes that are on now.
