okay tomorrow i have a test on oxidation numbers and nomenclatures. i have some questions. when your assigning an oxidation number, how do you know if to put the x before the first number and in what way to make the equation (for example, 2 + x -4 = 0, or 2x-4=0) and when your doing nomenclatures, how do you know if there has to be parentheses or when you have to put in numbers, like the charge? someone please help me out!!
