HELP!!! FISH ICK!!!!!! AAAAAAAH, They're Dying!!!?

HELP! My Silver tipped shark, and my Figure eight puffer fish have ick!!! I bought some quick cure, and on the back it says "Remove carbon from filter before use"...........WTF!?! Does that mean cut open the cotton filter cartridge and empty the black rocks...? Or does that mean take the whole filter cartridge out all together ?!?! And if I take it out, won't it like suck all the fish up? Please answer!!!!!!! I need help bad!!!
 
Turn up your water temp to 85-89 degrees. This should cure your ich without the need of chemicals and other headaches.
