I want my younger brother and sister to read fantasy stuff, but I can't think of any easy third grade level fantasy book. Do you know of one? It can't be too scary, because my brother is used to reading like the Moffats.

I was also thinking that I could buy the book for their Christmas present.

Starting them on the first couple of Harry Potters should be fine. I remember reading the fourth in a day in fourth grade.
Lloyd Alexander should be a good author.
Brian Jaques writes books that are thick for kids, but your brother will probably love them since they have lots of fighting. There's a timeline to his books, but few repeat the same characters so the order one reads them in doesn't matter much. The first own written was Redwall.
Sandry's Book by Tamora Pierce might be okay for a third grader...
Most things by Jane Yolen

Nurk by Ursula Vernon and also her Dragonsbreath. Fantasy and informative. Both are awesome.

You're best bet is to either give them what you read or to go look through the kid section of your local library.
