Help! - Engine Number Location

Hey all - just bought my first bike - a 2000 Suzuki Marauder VZ800. Only thing is, I can't find the engine number and my loan officer is sweating me for it so he can finalize the title. Can anyone tell me where to look? Thanks much.

Usually it's stamped into the top of the engine case on the left hand side of the bike.
