Help deciding on a phone.

I need a smart phone that acts as a pda too. I want to download my calendar and be able to sync with my PC. Looking at blackberry pearl. I dont want to pay for the data plan. Need something light weight.

My current provider is T-Mobile but dont mind switching to Cingular if I can get the phone for minimal and can port the number.

any help is appreciated.

Without a dataplan, you will be missing out on the best features of the bB - email and Internet. Seems to be a high price to pay for just calendar info. I am thinking there are cheaper options.

I've been spending hours looking for one and couldn't find anything that I could settle for. Narrowed down to samsung t629 ... but backed off because of the poor speaker / volume quality. Now back to BB or SDA. Theres only 50$ difference between them.
I have a Moto Razr and hate it 'cos of the speaker volume.

If I could get them cheaper then I'd be stuck with Cingular for 2 years than with T-Mobile for a year.
