I have had 2 surgeries on C5, C6, C7. The first was fused and bone put in and remove bone spur that was cutting into my spinal cord. I had terrible continuous pain after the surgery this was in July 2004. Doctor continued to tell me pain was in my head. Found new wonderful neurosurgeon and he did a bunch of tests and confirmed that it had not fused, and that he could see the cage was sitting on a nerve and there were more bone spurs. So June 2008 he went in to redo the fusion. Halfway thru surgery he called my husband from operating room and said that there were existing broken titatium screws and that others were lose. He needed permission to fix that problem which of course my husband said yes. Now obviously the first surgeon left the broken titatium screw in there when he did the first surgery and caused the nerve damage due to setting the cage on the nerve. After the second surgery I was rid of the constant nauseous pain, for which I am thankful. I am still in pain always and my hanRAB go nurab. Can't sleep! Can't spend more than 30 mins on computer. All sucks like most of you know. Anyway got new MRI and it says there is a broad central disc protusion seen which contacts and may minimally efface the anterior cord. Some facet hypertrophy is seen on the righ twithout significant foraminal narrowing. I have searched and can't find what this means, besides I know the disc is herniated. On C6-C7 which has a cage and is fused it says some uncinate hypertrophy is noted with mild left foraminal narrowing. Don't understand what that means and thought that once they fused the discs there shouldn't be a problem unless the hardware broke or it didn't fuse. The x-rays showed it had fused so I am really confused. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks!
