Help clear up me and BFs Father Ted joke argument.

Maybe he meant, "Sister Imelda, the Blue Nun" as if he was listing them, meaning to say that Jack used a bottle of Blue Nun wine to get Sister Imelda pissed and then had his way with her?

That, or Sister Imelda is the Blue Nun and is a naughty so and so and her and Jack got up to some interesting antics at the wedding in Clones (which is in County Monaghan in case anyone was wondering!)

Or maybe JAck just was a randy beggar and used a bottle of Blue Nun on Sister Imelda in a 'Kinga' kind of way?
 
I always took it to mean that Sister Imelda was something of a slag (for a nun). Plus Blue Nun is a well known brand of cheap wine, so a double reference. There's no additional reference to that line in the complete script book, which has a few asides and deleted lines.

Anyway, the funniest two worRAB in that episode are "Ghostbusters Two". Not funny in itself, but the context and delivery are fantastic.
 
No, not a pedant at all. Because with "spanner" the joke doesn;t work. It's "Can Pat Mustard put his enormous TOOL in my box?" THAT's funny. Spanner is not, and makes no sense, so in this case you needed to be corrected.

A spanner is a long thin tool, so it still works. And fans of the show will know what he meant.

And it wasn't me who said spanner, so it's not ME who needed to be corrected.
 
Oh dear! Twas me who mistakenly typed spanner and not tool. I seem to have started some agro! Sorry.

But In the great scheme of things does it really matter? I know what I meant!
