I have a simple cable for a c55 (writed in it) and rs232 (com1) to 12 pins connector for the phone ; doesn't work for me when i plug-in the benq-siemens c72, i mean dosn't recognized in the pc to use with mpm or simoco ; do i have to modify it?? Please, help me.

...this cable is used for flashing / unlocking E-Gold and S-Gold phones (with Joker,Freia, Papuautils,SST...software..
To use with Phone Manager (SiMoCo, MPM...software - for data transfer) you need to have serial cable (write RS-232 in the serial female connector)or USB to serial cable DCA510.
You not have possibility to modify this cable for using to data transfer (is too complicated).

Thank you for your reply Dagos, but i see that we can "associat" the 12 pins connectors to a 4 pins of a simple usb "A", and plug-in in the usb port to pc, with this scheme :

PC USB Pin SIEMENS Pin Description
1 1 USB Vbus
2 4 USB D-
3 3 USB D+
4 2,5,6,7 GND
Pins 2,5,6,7 of Siemens connector are wired together. USB VBus may be not connected - should work without this connection.

Is it right?? Do i need a simple usb type "a" for my pc, or a "virtual" usb to serial like prolific 203?? PLEASE help me, i can soldier wires.

...Ok, to understand. You write here the connection for the DCA540 - pure USB cable... For using on C72 phone, you need to make the following modification:
-connect pin 5 to pin 2 (in the Lumberg connector) with 10Kohms resistor.
-connect pin 7 to pin 2 (in the Lumberg connector) with 10Kohms resistor.
-if you want ro realyse charging functions, connect pin 7 to pin 2 (in the Lumberg connector) with 10Kohms resistor and connect Vbus (+5Volts) to the pin 1 in the Lumberg connector.
Lumberg connector is connector who is pluged in Siemens phone...
See on attachemment, for edification.
Cable with the Prolific chip have name DCA510...

thank you very much Dagos for these explanation, so i do this cable with a virtual usb to serial chip? Please confirm? it is not a pure usb connector? If so, it's not necessary to have the prolific virtual com chip, i mean the other side of connector of the virtual com, to lumberg, with the 4 wires (i cut an old virtual com cable and i identify the connections)? And please can you explain the connection :
-connect pin 5 to pin 2 (in the Lumberg connector) with 10Kohms resistor.
-connect pin 7 to pin 2 (in the Lumberg connector) with 10Kohms resistor.
Is it a simple connection with a resistor, without connection to the usb? Thank you in advance.

ok, i see the schematic, and i diduct that the charging function is optional, and we can read data/flash with this cable without it, isn't it?

thank you Dagos!! It work for me 100%!! I didn't found this cable here in my town, it's for that i need it! Thank you very much!

okay! I made 2 type of cable ; one (dca-540 and with charging function with the switcher 550) and the other is the dca 510 i think with the virtual com port OTI 6858 dual TX comm)) i built a USB female on it to be a cable for flashing) and if i want only data, i let it a dca540!!! waw! fantastic! two type of cable!!! thanks Dagos again.
