Help building and outdoor fireplace?

Can I use regular masonary block (gray) as my interior of my outdoor fireplace or do I have to use special masonary blocks that are used for interior fireplaces? What about adding decorative 2X2 bathroom tiles on the interior of the fireplace. Can it withstand the high heat?
Anyone know of a good website that they have used particularly for design and or schematics (step by step) instructions?
