Help apple mac or pc? For mostly graphic design, normal use?

I'm getting a computer this summer and I really need to know which one! The mac uses its memory better so it's actually faster then a pc with a little more. Is this true? My school uses pc, is there any way to use Microsoft word and stuff on the mac? If I need to do work at home, can I use a flashdrive? I want to do a little graphic design as a hobby and use Photoshop. How is that on the mac? (will I need a mac version of Photoshop or will a pc version do) also, with new windows 7, is multi tasking better now? I want to do a little graphic design (getting a wacom bamboo tablet), maybe mix my iTunes with dj software, and then facebook and normal Internet and some games. I love how the mac looks and I like to look modern. But it's ok i mostly want a good computer. I will vet a new pc or a used/refurbished mac. Help me!!! Preferably un biased answers but at least back up your answers. The more info (still easy to read) the better. Ps I love my iPod touch ( I like how apple makes everything sexy and fun. To me, pc says work and no fun but just help me. Please
