My soon to be brother in law is an absolute nightmare, plus he (and 3 of his friends) are coming to stay with me and my fiance for a week.
He has never warmed to me and when my fiance is out of the room has called me 'stupid, bimbo, ugly' he also talks loudly in front of everyone how women who wear heels and paint their nails and dye their hair are pathetic. Obviously I do all of the above, but I'm not stupid I earn my own money, and am doing a Economics Degree. It just causes problems when he comes to stay as I get very angry and stick up for myself. The last time he came to stay he did things like put his used dental floss in my tea, throw rubbish on the floor, dumped all my clean washing on the floor etc...Then my fiance gets upset as he feels like he has to chose between us, which I would never ask him to do.
His family seem to let it slide with him as he has had depression in the past and they tend to walk on egg shells around him, but I don't see this as a good enough explanation for his behaviour, especially as he only treats me in a bad way. He's 29 and never had a job, although (apparently) he's very intelligent, his mum also pays everything for him rent/bills etc.
Anyway! i'll cut to the chase! what can i do to ensure it doesn't turn nasty when he comes to stay? I'm also worried that he will have told his friends that i'm ugly/stupid etc and they will make me feel like a outsider in my own home. any advice would be great?? thankyou in advance! xxx
