2007 c50, Just installed new saddlebags now the helmet lock is a PIA to get to. anyone ever relocated there helmet lock, or know of an aftermarket lock?

You might buy short length of coated cable and some ferrules and make a piece with loops at each end. Run it through the helmet rings and the lock. That's what I did for locking up two helmets. That's unless there's a simpler solution by the aftermarket.

I used Kuryakyn lock on my handle bars...99 for a pair work great for hanging mine and my sons helmet...Also very easy to install....

I bought two of the Kuryakyn helmet locks that go on the bolts that hold the license plate. They work really well. Only wish is that they offered keyed alike when you buy two. Helmets hang over the turn signals.

There was a guy on the volusia riders web site that relocated his holder further up the frame, otherwise it is hidden behind the saddle bag as we all know. He said he did it with minimal change other than a longer bolt I think. Check it out sometime. Not sure what thread its on.

I have a 02 1500 intruder I relocated the helmet lock to the left side luggage rack, one of my friends moved his to the left side of the passangers back rest. Not a big job just drill two holes and move it.hope this helps. take care and stay safe. Doug

I asked my dealer last week what zuki was thinking by putting the lock behind the bags. He suggested simply taking it off and relocating it. Yeah, right then I have two holes to fill in the fender. I think I will go with the license plate dodads.

You can't even get the KEY into the helmet lock because of the saddle bags, what a bad design. I bought a 19.99 lock I put on the lower frame, under the right platform. IT is the Kuryakyn type lock, but I got it much cheaper on Ebay.

I relocated the oem helmet lock to the front fork, above the brake disc where the fender attaches to the fork. There is a website where you can buy "relocation brackets" but I made my own. It's just a steel plate with 3 holes. Put in a new screw and secure with locktite so nobody can just unscrew the whole thing. cost me about $3.
