Helmet law

Hey guys.

I have been traveling for work the last few days in PA. I guess they do not have a helmet law here because 9 out of 10 bikers I saw today did not have them on. It was a shame to see. What is the reasoning behind not enforcing a helmet law? Is it any different than a seatbelt law?

Quick poll here. What state do you live in, and is there a helmet law?

Curious of you thoughts on this matter........

New Hampshire; No helmet law and the only state left with no seat belt law. Also not required to have insurance. It is nice to be able to decide if I want to use good judgement or not without some LEO appling a tax to generate revenue because he has a quota.

? why would you not wear a helmet anyway ?

I had a light stack a few years ago where my helmet most likely saved my life...maybe i didnt look as cool with it on but it saved my ass
 
I think helmets nowadays look pretty damn sharp. I can't grasp the fact that some people think that wearing a helmet looks dorky. I think it should be mandatory to have a helmet on in all states.
