Hello, I am Mehmed Emin YILDIZ from Türkiye.

Firstly I thank you so much because of interests about God.

Here I will give some very easy examples from the normal life. This is my way to explain His existances giving daily events or example that all we know and see in the life. Here are some...

One of the logical examples: If there is something or movement, there must be a "maker" or "First Mover" of that thing.

First example: We are using computer right now. How did that computer exist? Of course, some engineers studied, calculated, designed and finally programmed that computer, right. If this is the real, logical and scientific way, can anybody say that, that computer was made by causes and effects or by itself? Or, is it possible to say that a computer can be produced "without" any engineer or programmer?

Second example: We are living in a house, flat or in a building, right. Is it possible for our houses or flats to be existed without any civil engineer or architect or workers? We can add more examples like above. As a result, every existeces must have their creator. So, we are looking at the outside, we see that the atoms, nature, world, plants, animals, seas, mountains, air, light, rain, snow, sky, humanbeings, Moon, Sun, planets, galaxies, etc... whole universe exist!. Those are saying by their own language, logically, scientifically: "If there is something, something exists", there must be a "EXISTOR of those thing". As we see, understand and accept that, there have to be only One Creator of everything meaning whole universe from atoms to the galaxies, who is Only One Allah!...

These are logical examples, If there is some non-understandable points, please dondt hesitate to ask. If you need more example, we can talk in yahoo messenger or in msn messenger: [email protected] , [email protected].

That is all for now.
Best Regardings.

The omniverse has existed for eternity. It was not created. There is no need for a first mover if matter and energy have always existed. You cannot compare natural things to items that are clearly constructed by humans.

Does God exist? YES! Who is God? Who Does He Claim to Be?
He's been described as everything from an impersonal life-force to a benevolent, personal, almighty Creator. He has been called by many names, including: "Zeus," "Jupiter," "Brahma," "Allah," "Ra," "Odin," "Ashur," "Izanagi," "Viracocha," "Ahura Mazda," and "the Great Spirit" to name just a few. He's seen by some as "Mother Nature" and by others as "Father God." But who is He really? Who does He claim to be?

Who Is God - Father God or Mother Nature?
Who is God? What has He revealed about Himself? To begin with, whenever He refers to Himself in parental terms, He always addresses Himself as "Father," never "Mother." He calls Himself "a Father to Israel,"1 and in one instance, when His "children" were particularly disrespectful to Him, He said to them, "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am the Father, where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My reverence?" 2

His prophets acknowledged Him as Father by saying, "You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand,"3 and "do we not all have one Father? Has not one God created us?"4 Never once does God refer to Himself as "Mother" and never once is He called such by the prophets to whom He spoke. Calling God "Mother Nature" is comparable to calling your earthly father "Mom."

Who Is God - What Does God Care About?
Who is God in terms of moral attributes? What does God have to say about Himself in this regard? He says that He delights in justice and righteousness: "…Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight."5 "For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and iniquity…"6

Justice and equity are very important to God. But so are grace and mercy. And so, while God will hold everyone accountable, each for their own lives, He extends His grace to the repentant sinner.

Grab a Bible and Read...
1. Jeremiah 31:9 (NKJV)
2. Malachi 1:6 (NIV)
3. Isaiah 64:8 (NKJV)
4. Malachi 2:10 (NASB); cf. Psalm 89:26; Jeremiah 31:9; Isaiah 9:6; 63:16
5. Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NIV)
6. Isaiah 61:8 (NIV)
7. Ezekiel 18:21-23, 32 (NASB)
8. Revelation 2:11; 20:6, 14; 21:8
9. Ezekiel 18:26-28, 32 (NASB)
10. Isaiah 53:1, 4-6, 10-12 (NIV); cf. Isaiah 52:13-53:12; Psalm 22; Daniel 9:24-27

God showing up ends atheism forever. Obviously, he wants it to continue, which it is.

God really exist. Just Read the bible and fine it out. If you try to believe then God well help you to understand things about Him.

I can see the engineers who developed computers, or barring that, someone actually has, and their existence is verified by means other than the computer itself. Not so for God. I can go to a city planning department and find the plans for the building, signed by the architect by name. Not so with God.

And who engineered God? If God always existed or created himself, why is it so illogical to think that the universe could make itself or could have always existed without ever needing to be created?

@Akira: the flaw in your reasoning is that it is just as reasonable to then close your mind to god and take the input not received from him as evidence of his non-essence.

Yes, I do want to discuss the question you mention: whether God exists. But this question and answer format is not really a "discussion" as such. You might try a social platform like Multiply or MySpace for something like that.

I do not believe God exists. It would take too much space here to examine all my reasons, but I'll give you some links to get you started.

Hi! The question isn't if there is a God, but who's God is true!

We both know (I'm Christian, btw) but before we start, let's establish some nice, friendly common ground that:

---> That there is a Creator who made all things
---> There is one God, the Creator
---> Jesus of Nazareth was a prophet of God

The Bible makes this clear: "And He shall send Jesus Christ,…For Moses truly said to the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up to you of your brethren, like to me; him shall you hear in all things whatsoever he shall say to you" (Acts 3:20–22).

The Qur’an (Koran) says: "Behold! The angel said ‘O Mary! Allah giveth you Glad Tidings of a word from Him. His name will be (Christ Jesus) the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah’" (Surah 3:45). In Surah 19:19, the angel said to Mary, "I am only a messenger of thy Lord to announce to you a gift of a holy son." Surah 3:55 says, "Allah said: ‘O Jesus! I will take you and raise you to Myself."

---> Finally, Moses is also a prophet of God, correct?

Okay, well let's start!
First, we need to put the Mosaic Law into context. You should know the Ten commandments.
1. Have you ever told a lie? If you have, what does it make you?
2. Have you ever stolen anything, even if it's small? What does that make you?
3. Now here's a quote from the Prophet Jesus: "Whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:27). Have you ever looked at a woman with lust? If you have, then by your own admission you are a lying, thieving, adulterer-at-heart.
4. So then, if God judges you by the Law of Moses on Judgment Day, will you be innocent or guilty?"

You may think that you are innocent, because you confess your sins to God. However, the Qur’an says: "Every soul that has sinned, if it possessed all that is on earth, would fain give it in ransom" (Surah 10:54). In other words, if you possessed the whole world and offered it to God as a sacrifice for his sins, it wouldn’t be enough to provide atonement for his sins. Imagine that a criminal is facing a 50,000 fine. He is penniless, so he sincerely tells the judge that he is sorry for a crime and vows never to do it again. The judge won’t let him go on the basis of his sorrow, or his vow never to commit the crime again. Of course, he should be sorry for what he has done, and of course, he shouldn’t break the law again. The judge will, however, let him go if someone else pays the fine for him.

Now remember that Moses gave instructions to Israel to shed the blood of a spotless lamb to provide a temporary atonement for their sin; and that Jesus was the Lamb that God provided to make atonement for the sins of the world.

Through faith in Jesus, you can have atonement with God. All your sin can be washed away—once and for all. God can grant him the gift of everlasting life through faith in Jesus Christ on the basis of His death and resurrection.

The uniqueness of Jesus of Nazareth was that He claimed He had power on earth to forgive sins (Matthew 9:2–6). No other prophet of any of the great religions made this claim. Only Jesus can provide peace with God. This is why He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).

God commands sinners to repent and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, or they will perish.

You may say that this is wrong because the Bible has changed while the Koran has not. However, there are many different versions, printed in different languages and in modern English, to help people understand the Bible, but the content of the Scriptures remains the same. The Dead Sea Scrolls prove that God has preserved the Scriptures. The 100% accurate prophecies of Matthew 24, Luke 21, and 2 Timothy 3 prove that this is the Book of the Creator.

Hope you enjoyed my views! Feel free to have a longer debate on [email protected]

Jesus loves you.

I do respect your opinion although it does not agree with mine. I am Buddhist and so have an entirely different view of things. I can find no reason to believe in a 'god' of any kind. Buddhism is a very happy belief. We fear nothing. We accept that we are each responsible for our own life and destiny. It is very nice to hear from you.

i think it was just a group of people, nice ones, they picked their leader, and other people followd

Oh my. Oh dear. What have we here?

Ah yes, the watchmaker argument. Yes, that one's been trounced rightly, and around here it gets thrown out nightly. So, pick another one please.

Oh, I see, another example of the watchmaker at work. Well, see my previous paragraph.

Ohhh! Logic! My favorite. I invite you to try some. However, be warned, this is the hard stuff. Right off the top shelf, this, so do take in moderation:

Ah, the ol' first mover argument.
The widely accepted theory for our universe's origin is the big bang.
If there needs to be 'an existor' of things, then who is God's 'existor'?
As for complex organization, yahoo answers is not the place to delve into evolution - but trust me, the beautiful, elegant simplicity of natural selection gets me all misty-eyed.
